Bird & Blend Tea Co. is a tea company with a difference! With people and planet at the core of everything they do, it’s more than just a cup of tea. Set up and run by Krisi and Mike, who met whilst studying Politics (of all things!) at university, they started off packing tea in their bedroom and attending markets.
Bird & Blend’s mission is to spread happiness and reimagine tea, all whilst being as eco friendly as possible. Now with an awesome team, multiple retail stores & a thriving international online store, they are leading the way for tea innovation in the UK.
Since launching their ChariTEA Programme in 2014, they have supported over 30 worthwhile causes, each nominated by a team member. So far they have donated over £61,350 to charity.
Once a ChariTEA has been selected, they choose a blend that they feel fits with their identity and cause. All of the profits from that blend, both online and in stores, go directly to the ChariTEA to support their amazing work.
But, more than that – once they have selected the ChariTEA of the Quarter they like to really get to know them to find out how else they can support them further. This could be through promotion on their socials, newsletters, volunteering to help them out directly, in store fundraising events or even mentoring!
Sustainability has been at the heart of their business from day one. From leaf to cup, every part of the tea’s journey is carefully designed to minimise the impact on the planet. They have recently announced their certification as B Corp, showing that they have pledged to put people and planet over profit in all they do.
